Is my dog too young? Too old? Too disabled to learn? Nope. As long as the dog has a functioning mind and some intact senses, they can learn from you. I'm happy to help with puppies, older dogs, and deaf and blind dogs. Even older dogs can start in herding--there's nothing saying a 7yr old can't learn to herd late in life. Heck, one of my competition dogs is a deaf dog--that doesn't stop him from competing and being good at it!
How long do we have to work to get our goals achieved? Well, that depends on many factors--what your goals are, what environment and dog you are working with, and how much time and dedication YOU are willing to spend on achieving your goal. Some things take one session to get you started, some things take several months--it all depends on the individual situation. I am happy to give you a guess on how long it will take given your situation.
How much does it cost again? Group obedience classes are typically $100 for 6 wks
Private obedience is usually $35 an hour
Private herding is usually $35 an hour for 2 dogs or less
Group herding is usually $35 a session (day), for two dogs or less

Are there any breeds you don't work with?
Not really. I don't believe in breed bias or breed specific legislation, and will accept all breeds and mixes into my classes, with the exception of wolf hybrids of 25% wolf or more.
As far as herding goes, I tend to work with upright loose eyed dogs and so I send most typical Border Collies and Kelpies to other local herding trainers that can help them better than I can. If I feel that for whatever reason I am not comfortable working with your dog, I will tell you and refer you to someone that might be able to help you better than I.
