Connecting To Intrex.Net With Red Hat Linux
- Boot up Redhat and login as root.
- At the command prompt, issue the command "startx".
- Once in X-Windows go to the control panel and run the network configurator.
- Click the Interfaces button (at the top of the window).
- Click the Add button (at the bottom of the window).
- Select PPP Device and click ok.
- You will be prompted for the Phone Number. Please choose
the dialup access number that is a local call from your location. Intrex.Net is not responsible for any long distance charges.
- Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields.
Note: If you are connecting through a Nationwide access number, enter username@intrex.net rather than just your username.
- For PAP authentication... (you just have to try it both ways). On some computers it works and some it doesn't work. The way it is supposed to work is as follows:
Push the box so that it is red and depressesd. This issue has been brought up with redhat, they say that it has something to do with what kind of modem you have, and the initial PPP negotiation when you dial in to login to Intrex.Net.
- Click Done.
- Click Yes to save your changes.
- To login, click activate. This will dial Intrex.Net and log you in.
