Intrex Internet Services

Report Spam

The Intrex.Net mail server has been configured to minimize the amount of spam received by our customers. However, if some spam still makes it to your Inbox, you can forward the spam messages to Intrex.

If you would like the sites sending the spam mail to be added to our blacklist, forward the messages with FULL HEADERS to abuse@intrex.net for consideration. It is important that we have the full set of headers from the e-mail message so we can block the offending site from sending any more unsolicited e-mail.

Full headers? What are those and why do I need them?

Good question. Often times when you receive a piece of spam mail, the visible information is forged or incorrect to make it difficult to find out from where the mail was actually sent. However, when you pull up the full set of e-mail headers, it contains the IP address of the mail server that is relaying the spam mail. By sending us these headers, we can prevent further spam mail from that server from reaching our servers. Without the information from the full headers we would not be able to block the spam.

Follow the steps shown below, depending on which e-mail client you use, to pull up the appropriate e-mail headers.

  2. Click on Preferences, and then click Appearance

  4. Go to the spam message you would like to forward, and click on Header just above the email message
  5. Select all of the text in the header window, and press Ctrl-C (to copy the contents to the Clipboard). Click HIDE to close the window.
