Speedster Web Accelerator detected another application using the HTTP listening port...

This can occur to Windows XP users when they utilize the "Switch User" feature, and both users wish to use Speedster. The first user will already be using the default local listening port (5400), so other users cannot use the same port.

Right-click the Speedster "S" icon and click Settings.... Click on the Connection tab and click the Advanced... button. Change "Local Listening Port" to something other than 5400, like 5500 or 5600. Restart Speedster.

If the problem persists, please call us at 919-573-5488.

During installation, a dialog appears warning that e-mail acceleration is disabled because another LSP (Layered Service Provider) was detected

This dialog is just a warning stating that e-mail acceleration is not possible on this computer due to a software conflict. Web acceleration will still work fine.
