Installing Windows 3.X Client Software
  1. Exit Windows completely (choose Exit Windows under File in Program Manager)

  2. At your DOS prompt (usually C:\> or something similar) type A:INSTALL

  3. The INSTALL program will copy some programs to your hard disk into the C:\INTREX directory, then start windows

  4. You should see a Welcome! Window, this is for the WinWeb browser installation. Click OK.

  5. You will be prompted for a Destination Directory, enter C:\INTREX\WINWEB

  6. You will be asked if you want to make backup copies of existing files, since this is a first time installation, select NO.

  7. You will be asked if you want to install icons, select YES, then from the list of groups that appears, select Intrex.Net.

  8. Finally, you will be asked if you want to start Winweb now, select NO.

Trumpet Winsock (Dialer)

  1. Open Tcpman by double-clicking the icon

  2. Under File select PPP options

  3. Enter your Intrex.Net username and password in the appropriate boxes and click OK

  4. Under File select Setup

  5. Look for the "SLIP Port" setting and set this to the COM port your modem is on. All other information should be correct.

  6. Exit Trumpet Winsock (Under File, click Exit)

Eudora (Mail)

  1. Open Eudora by double-clicking the icon

  2. You will first be prompted to enter POP account and Real name

  3. POP account will be username@intrex.net (where username is your intrex username)

  4. Real name will be your real full name

  5. Next, click the Hosts icon listed under Category

  6. Here, you will enter smtp.intrex.net in the box marked SMTP
    Note: If you are connecting through a Nationwide access number, enter gmail.intrex.net instead.

  7. Exit Eudora (Under File, click Exit)

Connecting for the First Time

  1. Open Trumpet Winsock

  2. Under Dialer, select setup.cmd (should be the last option)

  3. You will be prompted for the phone number.

  4. Enter the dialup number for your area. Please choose the dialup access number which is a local call from your location. Intrex.Net is not responsible for any long distance charges.

  5. Enter your username and password.
    Note: If you are connecting through a Nationwide access number, enter username@intrex.net rather than just your username.

  6. Next, under Dialer, select Login

  7. The modem should then dial the number and log you in

  8. Minimize Trumpet Winsock by clicking the small down-arrow in the upper right corner of the window

  9. Eudora should already be configured as stated above. Just click Check Mail under the File menu. Enter your password when/if prompted.

Winweb (Web Browser)

  1. Open the Winweb browser

  2. Under Preferences, click News and Mail

  3. Enter your e-mail address (username@intrex.net) in the box marked "E-mail address" and click OK.

  4. All other options should be correct already
