Graphical Instructions
- Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop. If you see a folder named Dial-Up Networking, go to step 6.
- To install Dial-Up Networking, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
Note: You may be prompted for your Windows 95 CD or diskettes. Please have these available before you begin the installation of Dial-Up Networking.
- Click the Windows Setup tab, and double-click Communications.
- Place a check in the box beside Dial-Up Networking. Click OK, click OK, and close the Control Panel window.
- Restart your computer.
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and double-click the Network icon.
- Look at the list of Installed Components. If you see
TCP/IP (or TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter), go to Step 14.
- Click Add, and double-click Protocol.
- Under the list of "Manufacturers", select Microsoft, and under the list of "Network Protocols", select TCP/IP. Click OK.
- Below the window of installed components, select Windows Logon for "Primary Network Logon".
Note: If prompted to identify yourself to Windows, click the Identity tab and fill in your username for "Computer Name", and type home as your "Workgroup".
- Click OK, and close the Control Panel window.
- Restart your computer.
- Double-click the My Computer icon, and double-click Dial-Up Networking. (If you have an Intrex.Net icon already, skip to step 17.)
- Double-click Make New Connection.
- For the name of your connection, type Intrex.Net. Click Next.
- You will need to enter the dialup number for your area. Please choose
the dialup access number that is a local call from your location. Intrex.Net is not responsible for any long distance charges. Click Next, and click Finish.
- Right-click the Intrex.Net connection, and click Properties.
- Uncheck Use area code and country code (or Use area code and dialing properties).
- Click the Server Types tab.
- Clear all the checkboxes except TCP/IP. Click TCP/IP Settings.
- Select Specify Name Server Addresses, and enter 209.42.192.253 for "Primary DNS" and 209.42.192.252 for "Secondary DNS".
- Click OK, and click OK.
- Right-click Intrex.Net, and click Create Shortcut.
- Click Yes when it asks if you want it to be placed on the desktop, and close any open windows.
- To connect to Intrex.Net, simply double-click the Intrex.Net connection.
- Fill in the information for your username and password, and click Connect.
Note: If you are connecting through a Nationwide access number, enter username@intrex.net rather than just your username.
